What is PeopleSoft?
PeopleSoft, Inc. was a software company that provided HRMS (human resource management system), CRM (customer relationship management), Manufacturing, Financials, EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) and Student Administration software solutions to large corporations, governments, and organizations.
Founded in 1987 by David Duffield and Ken Morris in California.
PeopleSoft started by offering a suite which consisted of just three basic areas: Payroll, HR and Benefit Administration. However, the suite has grown to encompass a more robust set of diverse HR-related applications and was renamed as HCM for Human Capital Management (around 2000) to reflect the changing role of people within an organization.
PeopleSoft was acquired by Oracle in 2005.
PeopleSoft HCM is an integrated suite of applications and business processes that are based on PeopleSoft's Pure Internet Architecture (PIA) and enterprise portal technologies; Within PeopleSoft HCM , you can do recruitment using TAM, Hire and Maintain Employees using WorkForce Management , Pay Employees using using North American Payroll for US and Canadian Employees, use Global Payroll to pay for more than 20 countries, use Time and Labor for Time Processing.
